The present study aims to understand how the characteristics associated with educators and their work environment modulate their decision-making process when using disciplinary educational measures (restraint and confinement). Using an explanatory sequential mixed three-phase design – computerized data, longitudinal quantitative measures, and interviews – it will be possible to identify the objective and subjective factors that influence decision-making. Examination of the decision-making process will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge that has been lacking until now, while also allowing the development of reflective practice.
